James Horace, 22, of Darby, is charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and related offenses stemming from a March 26 crash, troopers wrote in a criminal complaint.
In the documents, state police say Horace was observed committing traffic offenses on I-95 in Tinicum Township around 4 p.m. When a trooper tried to pull him over, authorities said the 22-year-old drove away "at a high rate," reaching 96 mph in a 55 mph zone.
During the pursuit, police wrote that Horace "made multiple unsafe lane changes and passed multiple vehicles on the right shoulder." Then, at the intersection of Bartram and Island avenues in Philadelphia, the trooper said Horace crashed into two uninvolved vehicles.
When the officer pulled up to the scene of the wreck, Horace allegedly "intentionally rammed (the squad car) at a high rate of speed in order to successfully disable (it)," according to the criminal complaint.
He then fled the scene for good, "striking multiple other involved vehicles" on his way out, police claimed.
After the incident, troopers released a description of the 22-year-old's Audi, the documents say. He was eventually identified after a Darby neighbor noticed the damage on his car, police wrote.
A warrant for Horace's arrest was issued and Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers asked residents for information on his whereabouts on May 25. Court records show he was arrested sometime before his May 30 arraignment, where bail was set at $275,000.
He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 7.
